What is Methamphetamine? Methamphetamine is a highly harmful, illegal drug. It is very addictive, and can cause intense changes to a person's personality. It is also known as meth, P, chalk, ice, and crystal, alone with other slang words.
Some short term effects include:
- Loss of Appetite
- Increased heart rate and blood pressure
- Disturbed sleep
- Nausea
- Aggressive behaviour
- Hallucinations
- Panic
- Convulsions, seizures, and sometimes death from large amounts
Long term effects include:
- Permanent damage to blood vessels
- Liver, Kidney, and heart damage
- Destruction of tissues of nose (From sniffing)
- Breathing problems (If smoked)
- Infectious diseases
- Weight loss
- Tooth decay
- Disorientation
- Depression
- Damage to brain
